INTERNSHIPS

Students may elect to broaden the scope of their Oxford experience further by taking an internship, alongside their academic courses. Work placements offer students the opportunity to learn and develop a range of professional skills in the workplace, including teamwork, prioritising tasks and taking initiatives in real-life work situations. They help towards a better understanding of British business practice, and through this, its culture and society.

Man with computerInternships are tailored to students' individual needs and help is given in drafting a résumé in order to secure a suitable placement. Regular reviews take place during the internship in order to assess work skills, strengths and weaknesses and overall progress. Students develop transferable work-based skills during their placements, which stand them in good stead when they embark on a career.

Internships are offered in various different work areas, including medical, publishing, finance, the Arts, politics and charitable organisations.
