"I have had a great experience, not just the learning in the classroom, but playing lacrosse with the university team and meeting a whole lot of people I wouldn't otherwise have known. "

SPORTS

Oxford offers a wide variety of athletics to suit most interests and students are readily able to pursue their chosen sport. The college organizes soccer, basketball and squash and there is a weekly indoor gymnasium session for five-a-side soccer, volleyball or badminton.

Those interested in other team sports, such as rugby, hockey, rowing or lacrosse, may join one of the local or university teams;OASP student activities and sports our Sports Organizer will arrange this. Similarly, tennis, golf, horse riding, ice-skating, plus other individual or team activities are organized according to individual requirements.

Weight training and aerobics are popular and there are several local gymnasia which provide facilities for these activities. In the summer months the leisurely Oxbridge river pastime of punting is a traditional outing and afternoons may be spent on the river trying to perfect this curiously fascinating and relaxing pursuit. Cricket, England’s national summer sport, is also played during the summer. Participation in all sports is entirely optional.
