EUROPEAN POLITICS
This course focuses on Western Europe's historical experience, the organisation of its decision-making institutions, and its electoral politics after 1945, with a largely contemporary emphasis. The countries that receive the most attention will vary from topic to topic, although in general, the approach will be comparative across states.This course also explores the European Union by examining its history, institutions, polities and future. Students are expected to keep up with the latest developments in British and European Politics by reading newspapers, magazines and current affairs journals.
