CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE

The course is open to all students who have reached the age of sixteen by the beginning of the course and who have completed at least high school sophomore year. The application form must be completed in full, signed by the student and countersigned by a parent/fee payer. Both sections of the personal statement must be carefully completed. Students are accepted on the basis of a satisfactory transcript and academic reference, which should be obtained from their home institution and forwarded to us.


Girl reading outsideA registration fee of $400 (£220) is payable with the application, refundable only where the student is not accepted. Late enrolments are considered, depending on the availability of places, but we cannot hold places for students who have not paid fees. Full medical insurance is mandatory and policy details should be submitted with final documentation. Parents are strongly advised to take out insurance cover to meet any loss of fees due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances. Travel insurance is also recommended. Students are responsible for organising their own insurance. A form of indemnification must be signed by each student and his or her parents. Enrolment cannot be finalised until this formality has been completed.

We reserve the right to suspend any student whose standard of conduct is unsatisfactory, and in extreme cases or where conduct does not improve, to dismiss the student. We also reserve the right to change or cancel academic courses, to alter the cultural visits program or to change the course as circumstances dictate.

FEES AND EXPENSES

COURSE FEES

$8,950 (£4,950) for a single college room with breakfast daily and dinner from Monday to Thursday, plus teaching in two academic subjects and expenses in connection with cultural visits, activities and sports organised as part of the program. Where students wish to take a third class an additional $900 (£500) is charged. As stated above, a registration fee of $400 (£220) is payable with the application.

LIVING EXPENSES

Students are likely to incur additional expenses for lunches, dinners at weekend, books and stationery, tickets and entrances for independent activities, souvenirs, subsistence and pocket money. $250 (£140) per week should be sufficient for this.

PASSPORTS & VISAS

Students are solely responsible for ensuring that their visas to enter the UK are valid. If in any doubt about this, please contact the nearest British Consulate to determine precise entry status.
