Personal Statement

Rank in order of importance the activities which best represent your greatest achievements and interests. Include any awards you may have received and also state the degree of your involvement.

You may want to consider drawing upon the following areas in compiling your list of activities:

  • Activities and organisations to which you have frequently contributed
  • Athletic teams for which you have played
  • Community activites with which you may have been involved such as volunteer work, religious or cultural groups
  • Creative work, or hobbies, to which you have devoted substantial time and which you have pursued to a high level
  • Prizes, honours, or special recognition you have won
  • Travel and other experiences

About Yourself

In considering your application we want to get to know you as well as we can. We ask you to use this opportunity to tell us something more about yourself to help us towards a sense of how you think and what interests you have. You should include how you expect to benefit from your time with us, what you feel you have to contribute and also what future ambitions you have.

Conditions of Acceptance

  1. Students who have completed 10th grade and reached the age of sixteen by the beginning of the course may apply.
  2. The application form must be fully completed, signed by the student and countersigned by a parent. It is essential that both sections of the personal statement are fully and carefully completed.
  3. A registration fee of $400 (£220) is payable with the application, refundable only where the student is not accepted.
  4. Students are accepted on the basis of a satisfactory transcript and academic reference, which should be obtained from their school and forwarded to us. No student will be accepted until these have been submitted and approved.
  5. Fees must be paid in advance, the deadline being 31st May. Late enrolments may be accepted but we cannot hold places for students who have not paid fees.
  6. Fees are not refundable. Parents are strongly advised to take out insurance cover to meet any loss of fees due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
  7. Full medical insurance is mandatory and details should be submitted with the final documentation. Travel insurance is recommended. Students are responsible for organising their own insurance.
  8. The course organisers shall not be liable for any injury to students or loss or damage to their personal property however caused. A form of indemnification will be issued upon acceptance and must be signed by each student and his or her parents. Enrolment cannot be finalised until this formality has been completed.
  9. We reserve the right to suspend from parts of the course any student whose standard of conduct is unsatisfactory, and in extreme cases, or where conduct does not improve, to dismiss the student.
  10. We reserve the right to change or cancel academic courses, to alter the cultural visits program or to change the course as circumstances dictate.
