FILM STUDIES
The aim of the course is to introduce students to several key theories and concepts of film study. A selection of film texts and extracts provides the basis for an analysis of structure, form and style, encouraging students to become more ‘cine literate'. Popular texts from America, Europe and Asia are studied both as forms of entertainment and as art. Study of the processes of film production is made, in addition to an examination of the various alternative approaches to film making around the world. The course includes practical activities designed for students interested in producing their own films.
