THE ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS

Oxford skylineThe course provides students with an opportunity to study a wide range of issues of environmental importance. The understanding of these issues is founded on clear knowledge of scientific principles and concepts, with much emphasis on the study of environmental concerns on both a local and a global scale. The themes covered are as diverse as population control, mineral extraction, ecosystem functioning and environmental conservation. Topical concerns about the proliferation of greenhouse gases and the possibility of consequent global warming are also considered.
